Community

Throughout my time in grad school, I have been one of the leaders of our departmental Community, Outreach, and Wellbeing Committee. I have also served on our Grad Council and as an LSA sustainability champion.

Key Initiatives

Here is a list of a few initiatives that I have been involved in:

  • Led an interdepartmental networking organization with 250+ members from 30+ departments
  • Helped to organize and run grad recruitment
  • Led an initiative to recognize the unsung heroes of the physics department (i.e. all the staff members that do the behind-the-scenes work that makes the department function)
  • Organized a summer seminar series for grad students
  • Facilitated dialogues on contentious topics amidst a shifting policy landscape; Navigated diverse perspectives and fostered constructive conversations that built consensus
  • In charge of communications to the 500-member department for one year
  • Physics song parody contest

Volunteering

I was a sibling camper many years ago at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, and I am so thankful for the support that Camp provided to me and my family. Each year, I go back and volunteer to support families in a similar situation.
